Do I really need a wedding videographer?

I hear you.. You’ve already locked in your venue, stylist, florist, celebrant, the list goes on. And so do the costs.

So you’re wondering if you really need a videographer for your wedding day?

Well, to be honest with you, you certainly don’t need it. But there are some seriously good reasons why having a wedding videographer is a great investment.

Nothing is forever, but our memories are as close as you’ll get.

And the one thing that will actually allow you to replay and re-live those magical memories from your wedding day, are your wedding videos.

From a personal perspective, my wedding day was fast and chaotic inside my mind.. I was so focused on everyone else and making sure they had a good time that I genuinely can’t remember a whole lot of it!

Having wedding videos has been so incredible to be able to watch back all of those incredible moments that I honestly would have forgotten about otherwise.

Not only can I watch these moments back, but my kids can now watch these moments back! Along with the rest of our family.

All I have of my parents wedding day is a couple of old faded photos. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I would love to see footage of my parents on their wedding day!

There are so many precious moments on a wedding day, from walking down the aisle to the vows and the first dance, but for me the most beautiful moments on a wedding day are the speeches.

By getting speeches recorded on your wedding day, you literally have videos of your most loved people saying the most beautiful things about you and your partner.

You will never get these moments back, you will never be able to replay these words back, if they aren’t recorded on video.

When my parents pass, I will forever hold these speeches so dearly, and will watch them again and again.

We’re always happy to shoot shorter parts of wedding days, but for this reason alone I personally encourage people to have their whole day captured.

You don’t get to replay your wedding day in life, but we can help preserve those memories forever, so you can at least replay it on screens whenever you want.

Now what’s the difference between operators? Why do some charge more and some charge less?

I want a wedding video, but I don’t want to spend much.

Again, we hear you. But cost is often a reflection of the quality of work you are going to receive. You get what you pay for is usually pretty accurate in this space. It’s not always the case but when you pay for a wedding videographer, you are not only paying for their work on the day of your wedding. You are paying for their equipment and the countless hours of editing that will follow, on an expensive computer, using expensive programs.

You are also paying for experience, creativity and artistry. This is no ordinary video. This is a love story, and it needs to be told beautifully.

Your best bet to find the right videographer for you, is to watch examples of videographers work, make sure you like their style and the quality of their work. Reading reviews online can also help. Some will have them on their website, while others will have them on Google or other wedding directories.

I can’t recommend having a wedding videographer any more. Whether it’s with me or any other operator, this is literally something you will have for the rest of your life. Consider the price of all the things that will be used once and once only on your wedding day, and then consider the price of these beautiful videos that you’ll have forever and you may then see the true value of hiring a wedding videographer.
